Lakeland Medical Center
Comprehensive, patient-centered environment that promotes healing
Our work for Aurora Lakeland Medical Center included expansion, renovation and modernization of the entire 92-bed facility - a $25 million undertaking. The rural campus is a group of five buildings built from the 1930s to 1990s which had never had a comprehensive evaluation or life safety upgrades.
The design provided a private area for the patient registration, generous amounts of natural light, and a more positive patient experience with better patient flow.
The project, involving 230,000 square feet, included an overall master plan, facility-wide life safety code analysis, upgrades to the corridors and surgical suite, renovation to an entire floor of the older 1938 building, the hospital kitchen, and patient rooms.
It also included a new addition at the front entry along with a new waiting area, registration, and coffee shop.
